Cheap Makeup Tricks

I am becoming more and more in love with BEAUTY work and headshots. I love great quality makeup achieved by professional Makeup Artists and even Hair Stylists, coupled with a fantastic Photographer that understands Beauty Lighting!

For Beauty Shots and headshots, concentration is more on the hair, makeup, and facial expression, but I adore when people work their hands into play, especially models who pose their hands properly!

If you are wondering how to pose your hands properly, without making them look awkward or manly, instead of flat hands, or completely spread fingers, resort to what I've always called "The Waterfall" in which you curl your fingers in slightly, at staggered lengths...pinky curled in the tightest, then ring finger slight less curled in, middle finger even less curled in and finally the pointer finger sticking out the most. Here are some examples where strong hair, makeup, expression and "The Waterfall" come into play!!

Break Bad Beauty Habits

Here are some bad beauty habits to break, that you may not have even thought of!

1. Clean Your Brushes!: Not only do clean brushes apply the makeup more smoothly and evenly, but the brushes could be holding bacteria. If you start breaking out, especially in the cheek area, it's time to clean your brushes! They should be washed from time to time with mild soap and water, but in between quick washes can be done with Makeup Brush Cleanser such as Clinique's

2. Remove Makeup Before Sleeping!: I know it's tempting to just go to bed after a long day, and worry about it in the morning, but it's actually damaging to your skin! Makeup rubbing on your pillow can cause the makeup to push deeper into you skin, and can cause breakout! A quick fix would be some cheap makeup removing wipes!

3. Over Exfoliating Can Be Bad: There's no question that exfoliating can leave you with healthier skin, but too much and you can rub your skin red and raw, and possibly create little whiteheads under the skin that are hard to get rid of. A good fix would be a light silky moisturizer that hydrates while it exfoliates, such as DDF's

4. Forgetting Sunscreen: Forgetting sunscreen is one of the biggest beauty mistakes you can make. You can be at a higher risk of cancer, as well as becoming more vulnerable to sun spots and wrinkles much faster than if you were to wear sunscreen! I recommend La Roche Posay 60 spf!
